is a spice derived from the flower of Crocus Sativus, commonly known as the "saffron crocus".

The stigmas and styles, called threads, are collected and dried. Saffron is considered the world most expensive spices

because of the amount of labor in harvesting and processing it. Apart from its beautiful color, aroma

and the fact that it is one of the most used ingredients in many Mediterranean ,Middle Eastern and International recipes .

Protects against Cancer: Crocin has been found to trigger apoptosis [programmed cell death] in a number of different types of human cancer cells, leukemia, ovarian carcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma, and soft tissue sarcoma.
